The Ghent European Law Insitute (G.E.L.I.) at Ghent University is pleased to announce the launch of the Multidisciplinary International Network on Sanctions (MINOS), the first international network of scholars working in the field of sanctions. The network is operated in collaboration with various international universities and research institutes. It aims to foster a multidisciplinary approach to the policy of sanctions, from their adoption to implementation and enforcement in practice.

MINOS provides a platform for European and international legal experts, economists and political scientists to develop innovative sanctions research projects. The network is also launching a MINOS Working Paper Series – draft papers falling within the scope of sanctions may be submitted at minos@ugent.be.

The first MINOS annual sanctions conference will be held by the University of Ljubljana on 25-26 September. The call for papers is available here (deadline to submit an abstract: 31 December).
